Solid HMI functionality
State-of-the art graphics and solid HMI functionality is a winning combination with essential synergies. In HMI solutions, the design attracts and keeps the operator's attention, while the functionality develops and keeps the operator's trust.
iX incorporates all the best experiences from our previous HMI solutions, taking solid HMI functionality one step further.
Aesthetically convincing HMI solutions powered by reliable functionality is your strongest driver to gain and maintain user satisfaction and increased productivity. With iX, you can achieve just that.

Audit trail
iX features audit trail functionality, providing you essential process tracking, user identification linked to time and place of interactions or events in a process, facilitating recalls and/or rationalizing of your production processes - ideal for food & beverage and pharmaceutical industries.
iX offers selectable events for triggering log entries. A free choice of cyclic or complete (FDA) logging strategy, as well as the possibility to write user defined texts in a log file with mapping to specified value changes. The audit trail function provides flexible, tailor made and easily overviewed event logs.
Internal variables
iX affords an internal variables function for creating any number of volatile user-defined variables. Internal variables can be used to calculate values without the need for representation in the controller.
Remote access
The remote access feature enables you to access and operate an iX runtime installation from a PC by using the remote access viewer program. And if the runtime installation is connected to the Internet, you can even access the runtime installation from any Internet-connected PC.
On the remote PC an image of the operator panel is presented, allowing you to operate the runtime installation by clicking on the image just as if you were there yourself. The remote access function proves extremely useful when performing remote customer support, remote control and troubleshooting.
Multiple languages
iX expands the usability in runtime and the creative scope in the design phase with it’s multiple language capability. You can choose from a vast number of languages in the runtime menus, as well as set up several languages for your application project.
Create multiple-language usability for user-friendly international applications choosing from a number of languages that are readily available or creating the layout to fit your needs.
Recipes
iX recipe management enables the operator to create and manage recipe libraries containing different sets of parameters, improving runtime efficiency and saving time. The recipe management facility enables all the dynamic data - signals and their values - in one or more blocks, to be saved to a file in the operator panel. The operator can then download the files to the controller, which will start operating with the new values. By using this function, it is possible to reuse large sets of parameters during runtime.
Trends
A trend object provides the operator with a visual representation of historical or real time events in a process and supports the understanding of e.g. the performance of a machine. Trend data can be easily logged and saved during runtime. You can specify logging of data to be carried out at time intervals or by changed data values.
iX features individual curves on/off, zoom in/out on screen, vertical or horizontal pan to a specific section of a trend curve and mouseover value readout.
Alarm management
Manage alarms and notify the operator via screen, printer, SMS or e-mail of events that require action, based on predefined criteria. An alarm condition is designed as a logical evaluation of a data value, and alarms can be divided into groups based on priority. Essential for smooth operations, you can program lists of alarm receivers in design-time, save old alarm histories etc.
Cross reference
The cross reference facility traces and documents all relations between variables, functions, pictures, recipes, etc. The cross reference facility is an invaluable tool especially at upgrades and maintenance.
Security
iX offers strong password and security features giving the operator access to well-defined areas. iX affords you the option of defining an authorized user or restricting access to a specified group. You can import/export security users in runtime and security group information and passwords are stored in the project database providing you with password-protected runtime applications.
Creating a security system for projects is easy - operators can easily be assigned different authorizations within the project to restrict access to particular objects and/or functions.
Data logging
iX offers you data logging via a built-in local data base for documentation or other purposes. Data can be easily logged and saved during runtime - similar to trend data but without any presentation in the operator panel. You can choose whether you want logging of data to be carried out at time intervals or by changed data values.
Scheduler
The scheduler is used to control data values in relation to the real-time clock. The iX scheduler enables you to automate events in the process at specific predefined calendar date and times, for example start and stop motors or other equipment.System tags
System tags afford access to internal iX data such as current user, available RAM etc. and can be used on-screen, logged and scripted. You are able to obtain important information from both hardware and software. System tags are defined and configured just as normal tags.Runtime database viewer
View data from trends, recipes, alarms, etc. or other data base in a runtime database viewer.
Index addressing
iX facilitates index addressing. With index addressing it's possible to control the register from which an object is to collect a displayed value. Index Addressing means that an object does not need to be connected to the same register, with the value in this register being the only one shown in the object. In the design phase you can easily set up index addressing by adding the value in the index register to the address of the register which is the analog signal in the object.
Animated GIF
Moving objects generate the attention of the user. Use animated GIF-files to create living user interfaces. It will bring more realistic expression to your application and ensures a safer process control.
Button with multi-picture
Use two different objects and the function Toggle-Tag and make your keyboard control visible. Assign a bit mode to different objects and generate for example a highlighted switch. Button on shows yellow LED, button off shows black LED.
Database export
Export data from trends, recipes, alarms, etc. into csv-file. Open in Excel and make further analyses and reports.
Improved Alarm viewer
Use the improved alarm viewer to manage alarms and notify the operator via screen, printer, SMS or e-mail of events that require action. Touch scroll function and improved grid view ensure easy navigation essential for smooth operations.
Multi language keyboard layout
iX expands the usability in runtime and the creative scope in the design phase with it’s multiple language capability. You can choose from a vast number of different keyboard layouts e.g. Cyrillic or simplified and traditional Chinese for easy maintenance and data entry.
