Remote Access Viewer

Remote Access Viewer is a program for remote access and control of EXTER operator panels

It is possible to access, reflect and control an EXTER operator panel from a PC by using the VNC (Virtual Network Computing) client program Remote Access Viewer together with the built-in VNC server – the Remote Access function - in the EXTER operator terminal.

When using VNC technology you can access an Ethernet network-connected EXTER operator panel from any PC that is connected to the same network. If both the PC and the operator terminal are connected to Internet you can access the operator terminal from any Internet-connected PC anywhere!

It can be very helpful to use the Remote Access function for the EXTER operator panels when for example performing remote customer support, remote control and troubleshooting.

Remote Access Viewer presents an image of the operator panel on the PC monitor. The image in Remote Access Viewer is updated at regular intervals or when requested. The Remote Access function has the same function as the actual operator panel.

The built-in VNC server in the EXTER operator panels also contains a small VNC applet. You can also connect to an EXTER operator panel with a web browser that supports Java applets, e.g. Microsoft Internet Explorer.

The picture of the operator panel frame is not displayed when a web browser is used as a viewer.
